In Feng Shui, the landscape around your home is a balance between Sha (Highs/Mountains) and Shui (Lows/Water). When this balance is off, it can lead to drained energy, financial loss, or health issues.

Whether your house faces a busy road, a low-lying pond, or a towering building, here is the essential guide to harmonizing your home’s "Highs and Lows."

1. The Core Concept: Find Your Balance

  • The Ideal: Traditionally, your home should have "support" behind it (high ground or buildings) and "movement" in front (low ground or open space).

  • The Conflict: When you have a "void" (low ground/water) where there should be "solidarity" (high ground), energy escapes.

2. The Remedies: Shield, Drain, and Boost

If your home’s exterior isn't ideal, you can fix the energy flow using these three strategies:

  • Construct a Physical Barrier: If you face a low-lying area or "hostile" water, build a boundary wall or use heavy landscaping. If you can’t see the "problem," its influence is significantly weakened.

  • The Elemental Bridge: Use the Five Elements to bridge the gap. For example, if Water is clashing with a Fire-heavy area, add Wood (plants). Wood absorbs the excess Water and fuels the positive energy of the space.

  • Create a "Virtual High": Use tall, upright furniture, floor lamps, or heavy "Sha" objects (like stones or statues) inside your home to ground the energy where the exterior terrain fails you.

3. The Threshold Check

Never underestimate the Door Sill (Threshold). A raised threshold of 三寸 acts as a final filter, "locking" your internal wealth and preventing external "low" energy from flowing into your sanctuary.
